Paul J. Montenero is a theology student. Working toward his Master of Arts degree, at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Lloyd Harbor, New York, he has taken a special interest in how art proclaims the messages of God.
While attending a lecture by my pastor, he mentioned a painting that many priests like to pray in front of because of its power to call them to serve the Lord. I looked up that painting, “The Calling of St Matthew,” by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. The longer I studied this painting, the more that was revealed to me.
