The Calling of Saint Matthew

Perhaps the most famous painting by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. It is full of messages and symbolism and content worthy of deep spiritual reflection. In Paul’s presentation, we learn of the combative personality of Caravaggio and the unfortunate event that caused him to live in exile from Rome in 1606 and spent the rest of his life seeking pardon for his mistake.
